In spite of the Philippines’ stellar situation among countries with workable track records in gender equality, there is still a need to publicize such promotion to the eclectic addressees as possible. TESDA-CVS aims to determine awareness on Gender and Development (GAD) educational institution as a would-be basis for its comprehensive dissemination.
On June 7-8, 2018, Fifteen (15) TESDA-CVS Personnel headed by its Vocational School Administrator Dr. Alvin L. Yturralde,COA Auditors Ms. Angelita Panganiban, Ms.Marilou D. Carlos, Ms. Venelyn D. Pascua joibned joined the group and participated not only during the discussion but also in the activities, which made the GAD event more exciting and fun. As facilitators, Ms. Janette A. Pascual and Mr. Carlos D. Mola made the event more significant by accommodating all the queries and issues raised during the discussion. The event was crafted to castoff GAD’s misconceptions and misinterpretations. A lot has happened, during the 2-day GAD activities, all games executed were patterned under GAD’s advocacy of gender equality, the GADmorning zumba cum exercise put everybody in shape and in good sound.
As a whole, after the very interactive discussion, no one was left unaware of GAD. While they are moderately aware of gender issues and government agencies integrating GAD plan to programs, projects and activities, however, they are aware of gender roles and national mandates and other related laws.
Furthermore, TESDA-CVS members are conscious of significant factors affecting GAD awareness. In this regard, sustainability of the GAD program should be ensured through wider information dissemination; establishment of network and linkages among clients working on gender concerns to share information and strategies; and creation of opportunities for collaboration through exchanges of knowledge and exposure visits.
TESDA-CVS gives its full support to GAD-initiated activities and will create a monitoring body to ensure compliance of government agencies with GAD provisions and to assist in promoting knowledge and appreciation of the GAD programs and activities.
