With its very limited land area, the partitioning of land during organic land preparation is a task worth planning. In other words, organic farming is not only a farm practice but also a viewpoint of working together with nature. More importantly, organic farming should be based on working on a well balanced ecological system, rather than relying on external farming inputs, such as pesticides, artificial fertilizers, additives, and genetically modified organisms.
CVS strictly observes farming which involves the use of traditional farm practices in combination with advanced scientific research conducted Dr. Alvin L. Yturralde, Dr. Consoalcion A. Talisik and Mr. Rico D. Briones, the establishment of vermicast using different subtrates; market wastes, food wastes, dried leaves and scrap papers and and modern farm innovations one of which is the use of animal manure. To name some of the principles established by CVS in organic farming are the following:
1.The principle of health claims that organic farming is intended to protect and enhance the health of all organisms (this includes soil microorganisms, as well as humans)
2. The principle of ecology, which is based on the fact that organic farming should protect and benefit the environment (landscape, climate, natural habitats, biodiversity, air, water, and soil)
As concrete evidences to support these principles, nursery area is well taken care of with vermicast monitored with different mentioned treatments, use of recycled empty 5-gallon plastic containers as plant pots, empty 1.5 litre of soda as bio-intensive gardening.
